I will always jump at the chance to do a styled shoot! So when one of my best friends flys in from California on a last minute getaway to come home and spend time with family and yours truly!.... A styled shoot is a MUST! I already found this dress at my local goodwill for $8 a couple of months earlier and had been wanting to do a shoot but didn't have a model for it yet. I knew I wanted a floral wreath for the horse to give her a little bling too. But a real one was WAY out of my price range. So again I went to my favorite store... GOODWILL! I picked up random silk flowers and was able to put them together to create this one of a kind wreath and a matching floral crown.
Unfortunately for us, Maggie only had 1 day that was open in her short visit to spend time with me... and on that day we were expecting severe thunder storms. We had gone out earlier in the day to try to take photos but it was so sunny the photos would NOT have come out the same. So we waited.... We may have waited too long because when the lighting was finally right, there was 35 mph winds with even stronger gusts and shortly after we finished (because is started raining) the tornado sirens were going off! Yikes! But Maggie and Cheyenne were troopers and we got a fair number of usable photos for only 20 minutes of shoot time!
As for the horse... Her name is Cheyenne. She is owned by my neighbor. Who kindly allowed us to use her fur-baby. In the past Cheyenne was used as a reigning horse. But more recently she serves as more of a companion horse to another horse on property because of her calm and sweet demeanor. (thank goodness for that!)
Here are a couple of photos we took when we went out earlier in the day of just Maggie... Seriously I don't know how or why she is one of my best friends! She is tall, beautiful, modest and smart (like crazy super smart!). She's the whole package!
Best friends shenanigans
